Created some three years ago, the four member group includes cofounders C1 and Wesley as well as Spray and Chyna. They have developed their song writing skills over the last several years covering their own life experiences to their future, hopes and dreams. Their music has an increasingly reflective quality by drawing from their own lives and mind states in a way that few other groups, regardless of nationality and background, have done before. As Chyna puts it, “We want to turn things around and make a positive impact on society – what you do today will make a difference to your future.”

Northstar proudly writes and composes their own lyrics from their own personal experiences having grown up in the same area of London.

The group is young but far from new to the industry. They have been writing for over six years – their talent clear for the world to see, though in the early days they could not see it themselves! Chyna has been writing poems and mesmerizing her fellow peers with her angelic voice for years.

With a prominent place in the global underground music circuit for the last three years, Northstar has spent time cultivating and growing their talents. They have put a massive amount of effort into seeing their music grow, which in turn has developed their strong and focused personality. Northstar has been through many difficult trials and tribulations that has significantly contributed to their developed content and musical expression.

The streetwise artists have already performed around the world and have opened shows for the likes of chart topping Lisa Maffia and Platinum selling artists such as Memphis Bleek and Christina Aguilera.

On the Rise:
This song combines a smooth blend of Hip Hop flows with a fresh, soulful production sound. On the Rise is the first promo track taken from the new up and coming urban artist Northstar. This is a showcase of un-manufactured, global urban music at its best – Northstar has already been identified as the one to watch in 2006 by several industry insiders in the US and Europe.

Northstar’s On the Rise video has already spent 4 weeks as NUMBER ONE on UK’s all request Channel U, and spent several weeks at the top of the charts on MTV Base. The group has toured Europe for the past year including venues in Malaga, Athens, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Stuttgart, Majorca, Wales, London and Cambridge. They have also done shows with Coolio and Rocafella Records.
